Deafening Echoes

Deafening Echoes is a poem written by Tafadzwa Chiwanza, this poem is worth reading.

Deafening echoes

Chimeras laugh

As the dust marches

Beneath the shadow of each book

Whose pages hide an infinite number

Of finite moments, words dare not say
Dusty voices

Echo in the empty library

As if to cull the brown pages-

To gather the moments long lost

At the shores of the writer’s imagination.
Deafening echoes

Of the creaking shelves

Sound like the sound of silence

Shouting at the walls of oblivion

Hidden beneath the writer’s final full stop

Tafadzwa Chiwanza
